Description
This is a very nice FRANKOMA#466 Lilly-Shaped Roadrunner Ashtray or Trinket Dish.
Dish is an attractive Prairie Green color with interesting highlights of desert brown.
Dish is made of Red Sapulpa Clay and was produced between 1954 -1964.
Dish is about 7" in long by 2 1/4" wide by 2 3/4" in depth and weighs about 10 ounces.
Dish is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks [see photos].
This Southwestern trinket dish is sure to add a pleasing touch to an home or collection.
NOTE:
The
"Road" in Roadrunner is smooth.
This
appears to have occurred in making the item since the "Fran" in
Frankoma
on the bottom is also smooth [see photos].
NOTE: Frankoma pottery can be tricky to identify and date. ADA pottery us usually very light [sometimes called a light tan]. It also does not darken when wet. This piece appears to be made of Red Sapulpa Clay [see photo of bottom]. However, we could be wrong. Comments are welcome.
